Getting in the world of world of Smart Drugs and Nootropics, in particular, for the first time can be a daunting, overwhelming, and confusing proposition. Before taking Nootropics, it's important to understand the properties and nutrients behind each substance, how it is designed to work, and the potential effects it could have on you. That said, there's a lot you need to know. For example what type of Nootropic are you interested in taking? Natural or Synthetic? Is it a Racetam or a derivative of? Is it a Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor, a Peptide (e.g. Noopept), an Ampakine (e.g. Ampalex), or something else? Should you stick with one Nootropic or should you stack? Where do you begin?
It wasn’t as if I was a lazy student or didn’t make the time to study—I studied hard. The problem was, things just didn’t really stick. Now, I’m not big on coffee or energy drinks but during exam period those things for me are a necessity. Thing is, I often get anxious or a bit jittery as a side-effect of these. Despite these side-effects, coffee and energy drinks were my “go-to” ways of helping to keep me alert, focused, and awake! But that all changed just a few weeks out from my first exam.
I don’t know when exactly it hit me but things, for me, got interesting very quickly. As we got started one of the girls began with a question about the last lecture around lifecycle stages of customers and how we were advised to apply various economic theories to validate our thinking. At that point, I was trying to recall the lecture but was drawing a complete blank. For the rest of the room, however, the other students couldn’t get their thoughts in quick enough. I don’t exactly remember what they all said but I just remember it being smart, concise, and making a lot of sense. And, this went on for the next 20 minutes non-stop.
For the next half-hour I got a crash course from the other students in the room telling me all about Smart Drugs and Nootropics like Modafinil, Adrafinil, Piracetam, Aniracetam, Oxiracetam, Noopept and more. One of the girls offered to give me some of her Modafinil which, at first, I was reluctant to take. With the supplements in my hand I looked around the room as everyone watched. Needless to say, it wasn’t long before the effects kicked in. I felt more energetic, more focused, and my thoughts seemed to have a lot more clarity. For the next three hours we were all on the same level and remarkably even hours later I still remembered and could understand everything that we had discussed. It was as if I had devoured the economics book through my mind and had achieved more in those three hours than of the past three weeks of study. Where are am I now? Well, I’m still in College in my final year and by the end of this semester I will have completed my studies and will graduate with my PhD.
